Ascent date: Sep 17, 2005
Ascent time: 6:30hrs

Comment: Easy scramble
Exit hwy16 to Three Sisters Village then turn left on a stop sign. Do not turn towards the golf course. Keep straight and park at a big black gate (signed).

(1) We hiked about 2km on the road to the Middle Sister trailhead (signed) after leaving the gate. The road/trail soon reaches a "dam" which we had to cross. The remaining of the trail then follows Stewart Creek.
This was Stephanie's introduction to scrambling. A leasure trip. The only downside to this was the long approach. Who likes long approaches anyway?

(2) We stayed on Stewart Creek up to this cirque, directly below the Big Sister. We then angled right and hiked up on fresh snow to the Big Sister/ Middle Sister col. There were a lot of people ahead of us, so the snow steps were a lot easier to deal with.

(1) Here's Stephanie on the last push to the summmit. Go Stephanie!!

(2) It was definitely a long trudge to the summit, but very much worth it. The clear views were awesome. Snow-capped sea of summits made an outstanding dramatic effect to the skyline.

(1) The snow here was from knee to hip deep but it was already compacted by the previous glissaders. Here's Ian and Stephanie doing an "Australian Glissade".

(2) Pick a clown Canada.
