June 27-July 1, 2005. Although the forecast was rain/thunderstorm and cloudy for the whole week, we were blessed to catch a few days of sunshine. Our site was beside the heavy flowing Yoho River so it was a bit loud, but this noise is still way better than traffic noise.
The cost was $31/night (incl. fire/wood), gate-registration, flush toilets, showers, and of course hot water.
(1) This is the interpretive Walk-In-The-Past trail. This trail begins on the RV sites to a closer look, at the making of the mountain railroad tracks.
(2) The trail crosses the tracks, so make sure to Stop-Look-Listen before proceeding. As we observed the traffic here, one train comes every ten minutes and each trip runs for about 4 minutes.
(1) Here's one of the highlites of the trip. An easy scramble to Paget Peak.
(2) If It wasn't for the fence I would have been eaten by now. We took a drive to Golden, to visit the Bear Refuge at the Kicking Horse Resort.
