October 4-6. This week is the Chusok Holiday or Korean Thanksgiving Holiday. It is one of the important holidays here in South Korea. Most people that lives in the greater Seoul area flock to the boonies or to their home town to visit their relatives. Highways are known to become very busy and most businesses are close. For the english teachers, this week is an opportunity to take a break from the stress at school. A time to relax and see more of South Korea.
My wife and I went to Chiaksan National Park for another camping trip. This park is only about 2hrs away from Incheon, and we hit this target on our way there. Our way back though was a disaster. It took us over 5hrs with no break and no place to stretch our stiffed legs.

October 8. Before the end of the Chusok Holiday, we visited the Folklore Village in Suwon. This park is about 1.5hrs by subway, south of Seoul. The place is huge. We arrived to the area late in the afternoon so we only had a chance to visit a few places. After arriving at Suwon, we consulted the tourist information office right outside the subway station. We bought our tickets there for the park and arranged our free transportation.
Outside the information office were a lot of different kind of asian. I went close to one of the groups to hear they talk, and see if we speak the same language... we didn't. When I went back to the office, the representative there asked me if I am Indonesian. When I told him where I was from, he started talking to me in Tagalog. It was cool to hear Koreans speak Tagalog.

October 15. Here's a fine performance by the Chinese Acrobat in Seoul Olympic Park.

October 22. This run took place in Misa-Ri, around the Motorboat Race Course, a small town east of Downtown Seoul.
This is a moment of truth for some people. Especially to those who doubt themselves and to those that don't have enough strength... and I mean that mentally.
Our friend Gino didn't even train for this run and he made it to the finish line alive.
I didn't participate. Why? Because I choose not to run.

October 28 back on the hills, I went for a solo hike to Mt. Moraksan. It was only a short hike to the summit but I hadn't been going out regularly, so this trip tired me too much. Including the long walk from the subway to the trailhead.
