Mt. Banahaw is referred to by
locals as the Holy Mountain. The climbing of this mountain is
a pilgrimage people do for good health as well as for their
lost loved ones. A lot of stories were told about the sprits
on this mountain. If you yell, curse, litter, or kill any form
of wildlife or vegetation, you will likely to get the worst
possible weather. Some say the trail seem to repeat itself,
you keep coming back to the same spot no matter how long you've
already hiked. Just a little piece of advice, everywhere we
go, respect is the key to a safe and enjoyable adventure.
There are two trails to reach the summit. The most popular trail
is an easy hike but takes about two days for most people to
get to the top. This trail offers a magnificent variety of views
including numerous waterfalls. There is also a direct approach
often used for descent. This steep trail will take you directly
to the summit on a day's hike. |
