| The summit of Mt. Halcon is also
known by some mountaineers as the "ika-pitong bundok"
(seventh mountain). This is because you need to hike through
six false summits before you reach the true summit. On our second
trip to Mt. Halcon, it only took us two days up and two days
down. No matter how long it takes you to reach the summit (I
would even suggest that you take your time), you will definitely
enjoy the views on this hike. I remember taking a dive into
a small pond, drinking water directly from a stream... no carabaos
on the high end that time, camping on a ledge of a hill with
a bunch of waterfalls from a distance. Breathtaking. Not to
mention the summit camp on a bed of clouds. |
