Muscle
Zone Outdoors
 |
 |
Muscle Zone Outdoors was founded August
of '92 with pioneers: Jason deOcampo (UST
Mountaineers), Jon deOcampo (Ayala Mountaineers),
Ding dela Cruz (Mzo), Michael Caparas and
Cecil Calleja (Mzo), and Jerahmeel Madridano
(Mzo).
It began with a trip to Famy Falls in Laguna.
We called it "mountaineering",
before we were asked by local kids "Are
you going for a picnic too?" Dammit
it's not even a mountain. To avoid the humiliation...
we said yes, with our backpacks almost twice
the size of the kids. One of them on flip-
flops. |

Mindoro |
A celebration climb at Mt. Halcon, Mindoro was conducted
after graduating the MOSART training.
This is when Rhonnel Buenbrazo (MIT Mountaineers),
Dennis Bacarro (De Oro Mountain Explorers), Lory
Callanta and Leklek Villanueva (PALMMS), Jon DeOcampo
and Eric Magno (Mzo) started the existence of Chopseuy
Mindoro. A highly developed group of mountain explorers
also designed to scale a rock wall and dive deep
into the abyss.
Mzo and Chopseuy Mindoro have also successfully
reached the highest point of the Philippines, Mt.
Apo, in Davao Del Sur. At the same trip, Mt. Hibok-Hibok
at Camiguin Island was also scaled. We were informed
on our descent that this volcano has been active
the whole time we were on it. No wonder while washing
by the streambed, the water sogged our balls...perhaps
overcooked. |
